How Does EMSCULPT® Work?

At Yazdani Aesthetics, we use EMSCULPT® to help patients achieve more toned body contours.

EMSCULPT® by BTL is the only non-invasive procedure that helps women and men build muscle and burn fat simultaneously. This machine uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to induce strong, supramaximal muscle contractions, the kind not achievable voluntarily through exercise.

Your muscle tissue is forced to adapt to the extreme conditions that result from these strong contractions. This adaptation involves the muscles remodelling its inner structure, and stimulation of muscle growth. These processes ultimately tone, strengthen, and firm your muscles. The powerful contractions also induce excessive demand for energy, which commonly results in a reduction of intramuscular fat.

Consultation

In order to best understand your aesthetic goals and establish an effective treatment plan for attaining them, all patients will have a comprehensive consultation appointment with Dr. Yazdani or one of his trained Registered Nurses. The consultation will involve a review of your medical history, as well as a short trial to see what the treatment feels like. Your first consultation appointment is booked with enough time so that if you wish to proceed with treatment, you can do it at that time. You may wish to take time and think about it and schedule your first treatment for a later date.

What to Expect with Treatment

During your treatment, a Registered Nurse will remain in the room to ensure you are comfortable and to adjust the intensity or location of the EMSCULPT® paddles, and answer any questions if necessary. You may opt to keep your clothes on for the treatment, however we recommend removing clothing at the treatment site for the best aesthetic outcome. The treatment can feel like an intensive workout, however, you can lay down and relax throughout the entire duration of the procedure. Depending on which area you are treating, the session will last 30-40 minutes.

EMSCULPT® is a completely non-invasive body contouring option with no surgery and no needles. As such, there is no recovery time or pre- and post-treatment preparations. Some patients report a slight tenderness in their muscles 1-2 days following treatment, similar to what is experienced after a workout, but much less intense.

You will begin to feel results right after your treatment. Positive results in appearance are usually reported 2-4 weeks after the last session and will continue to improve for several weeks following the treatments. Just as results in muscle tone are not usually seen immediately after a workout, it takes some time following treatment before a noticeable difference.

What are the Benefits of EMSCULPT®?

The supramaximal contractions induced by  EMSCULPT® cause micro injury (just as exercise does) and triggers muscle growth. It has also shown:*

• increase in muscle thickness
• reduction in abdominal fat
• reduction in diastasis recti if treated early
• waist circumference reduction
• volumetric growth of all 3 gluteal muscles

How Many EMSCULPT® Treatments Are Required?

Every individual’s body is unique, and treatment experiences will differ accordingly. Your provider will create a treatment plan tailored to your body and specific aesthetic goals.

A typical treatment program will require 4 sessions scheduled 2-3 days apart. After these initial 4 treatments, we suggest quarterly sessions in order to maintain these results.
