Breast Lift in London Ontario

Yazdani Aesthetics offers breast lift surgery in London, Ontario for patients who want to address sagging breasts, lowered nipples, stretched skin, or changes in breast shape after aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight changes. Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift removes excess skin and tightens surrounding tissue to support a lifted, firmer breast contour.

As a woman ages, her breasts will naturally change shape, especially sagging or sinking relative to their original positions. In these cases, her breasts will lose volume, but the size of the skin envelope will remain the same. Plastic surgeons address concerns about breast shape through a type of surgery called a breast lift or mastopexy.

In medical terms, the sagging of the breasts is called ptosis. Ptosis causes the nipple and the areola to drop in relation to the rest of the breast. Several factors contribute to your risk of ptosis, including your age, whether or not you have a history of significant weight loss, your body mass index, your bra cup size, and the number of pregnancies you have had.

How a Breast Lift Works

In a mastopexy, the extent of the incisions needed to complete the surgery depends on the degree of ptosis that you display. A minor case of ptosis will drop your areola to a height just below the inframammary fold, the natural crease underneath your breast where it meets your chest. Severe ptosis can result in the nipple and areola dropping to the very bottom of your breast and pointing downward instead of forward and up. Mild ptosis can often be fixed with a simple incision around the areola. More severe cases require longer incisions that may reach both vertically and horizontally across the surface of your breast.

A well-performed mastopexy will raise and add firmness to your breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to support the new breast contour. The incision lines are permanent*, but in most cases, they will fade and improve in appearance over time.

A mastopexy, however, will not significantly change your breast size or add roundness to the upper part of a breast. For this reason, breast lifts are often performed in conjunction with a breast augmentation or fat transfer procedure to address both shape and size simultaneously.*

Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?

An ideal candidate for a mastopexy is a woman who is physically healthy, maintains a relatively stable weight, and has realistic expectations about the outcome of her surgery. Good candidates often notice that their breasts have lost their original shape, firmness, or volume, causing the nipple and areola to point downward or drop below the natural breast crease.

For safety and optimal healing, candidates should ideally be non-smokers. If you are planning significant weight loss or future pregnancies, our team may recommend timing your surgery after those life events, as stretching from pregnancy or weight fluctuations can alter your long-term results. During your consultation, our team will review your anatomy and goals to build a personalized treatment plan.

Breast Lift FAQs

What is a breast lift?

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to raise and add firmness to sagging breasts. Under the care of our Royal College-certified plastic surgeons, the procedure removes excess, stretched skin and tightens the surrounding breast tissue to support a higher, more youthful contour. The nipples and areolas are also repositioned to point forward and up.

What causes breast sagging?

In medical terms, breast sagging is called ptosis. It occurs when the natural skin envelope stretches and loses elasticity over time. Several factors contribute to your risk of ptosis, including the natural aging process, a history of significant weight loss, your body mass index (BMI), your natural bra cup size, and the total number of pregnancies you have had.

Does a breast lift increase breast size?

No. A standalone breast lift will not significantly change the actual size of your breasts or add roundness to the upper portion of the breast mound. It primarily redistributes your existing tissue, removes extra skin, and lifts the breasts higher on your chest wall.

What is the difference between a breast lift and breast augmentation?

While both procedures enhance the appearance of the breasts, they address completely different structural concerns:

  • Breast Lift (Mastopexy): Corrects sagging skin and repositioning dropping tissues. It changes the shape and height of the breast but does not alter its volume.
  • Breast Augmentation: Focuses purely on size. It uses silicone or saline implants, or fat transfer techniques, to increase volume, fullness, and projection.

Can a breast lift be combined with breast implants?

Absolutely. Because a breast lift addresses shape but does not add size, many patients choose to undergo a breast lift in conjunction with a breast augmentation. This combined procedure allows our plastic surgeons to safely address both sagging skin and a loss of volume simultaneously, providing a firmer and fuller result.

How long does breast lift surgery take?

A standard mastopexy surgery typically takes between 2 to 3 hours to perform, depending on the complexity of the incisions required for your degree of ptosis.

What type of anesthesia is used for a breast lift?

For your complete safety and comfort throughout the procedure, breast lift surgeries are performed under general anesthesia.

Is a breast lift outpatient?

Yes. A breast lift is performed as an outpatient surgery at our accredited operating facilities, meaning you will be able to return home on the very same day as your procedure.

How long is breast lift recovery?

Most patients can comfortably return to light desk work within 1 week following surgery. More strenuous physical activity and heavy lifting should be avoided for at least 2 to 3 weeks. It generally takes about 1 to 2 months for post-operative swelling and bruising to completely resolve, allowing your breasts to settle into their final appearance.

How much does a breast lift cost in London, Ontario?

The total financial investment for a breast lift varies based on the surgical technique used, your unique anatomy, and whether the lift is being combined with implants. In Ontario, private cosmetic breast lift surgery typically ranges from $8,500 to $12,000+. The Yazdani Aesthetics team provides a transparent, exact pricing breakdown tailored directly to your surgical goals during your personalized educational consultation.
